In the latest CMS Provider Information file (August 2026), Mississippi's certified nursing homes are the fullest of the three at 84.7% of beds occupied, Ohio sits at 83.6% and North Carolina at 82.6%, all above the national 80.3%.

What it means for a seller
Occupancy is the first number a buyer underwrites. A building above its state's average has a story to tell; one below it needs the reason ready before the first call with a buyer.
